Densify within the footprint

We have to double the capacity of this site in the same footprint, without doubling the capex.

Higher-density racks and a move from air to hybrid or liquid cooling change three things at once: the load on the slab, the clearances around every unit and the draw on every feed. Criad checks a proposed option against the model and the governing documents, hall by hall, so the feasibility answer comes with its evidence and the structural questions are named before the design moves.

Every answer cites its source. People decide.

How it works

Ask. Inspect. Verify. Publish.

1

Ask

A plain-language question.

"Can this hall take high-density, liquid-cooled racks?"
2

Inspect

The full blast radius, on the model.

Every rack position in the hall, with the slab zone, the aisle clearances and the feed it sits on.
3

Verify

Checked against the governing drawings and specs.

Weight is checked against the structural limits, clearances are measured on the model, and electrical draw is summed against the feed. Each check names the clause and the measurement.
4

Publish

A dashboard, report or register, citations attached.

A feasibility sheet per option: what passes, what fails, and the questions for the structural and cooling designers. People choose the option.
Worked example

One job, start to finish.

Values come from a structured reference campus, not from a client project.

Reference campus
  1. 01

Reference campus, Hall 2: 240 rack positions, one approved rack product.

  2. 02

Envelope 0.60 x 1.20 x 2.00 m from the spec. An Open Rack V3 at 2,286 mm tall fails the height limit at every position; its 1,400 kg load rating meets a slab limit the spec does not state.

  3. 03

A denser option is checked position by position, not as a rule of thumb.

  4. 04

The departures go to the designers as a list, with the evidence attached.
